Intemporal Architecture is a Connecticut-based architecture and interior design studio founded and led by Pouya Zhand, RA, AIA, NCARB, working in close collaboration with Matthew Pultorak, AIA, MBA, WELL AP.
We partner with homeowners, builders, and property owners on custom homes, major renovations, additions, multifamily developments, and select commercial and mixed-use projects. Our work combines thoughtful design with practical guidance, from early feasibility and permitting through construction documentation and construction support.

Pouya Zhand, RA, AIA, NCARB
FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
Pouya founded Intemporal Architecture to unite thoughtful, atmospheric design with direct and practical client guidance. His experience spans custom homes, major renovations, multifamily and mixed-use developments, hospitality, and higher education.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Cardiff University and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University, where he served as a design teaching assistant and received the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for Leadership, Service, and Professional Merit.
Pouya’s work is informed by phenomenology, the way architecture is experienced through light, material, proportion, and movement.
Clients work directly with him throughout the process, combining close collaboration with design rigor, technical precision, and clear communication.
Matthew Pultorak, AIA, MBA, WELL-AP
COLLABORATING ARCHITECT
Matt collaborates with Intemporal Architecture on project planning, technical coordination, management, and delivery. He brings extensive experience across residential, commercial, government, and large-scale development work, including projects with construction budgets exceeding $50 million.
He earned his architectural degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA from Louisiana State University. This combined background in architecture and business informs a pragmatic approach to design, coordination, and strategic decision-making.
Matt is especially proud of contributing to the rebuilding of Jersey Shore communities following Hurricane Sandy and continues to support the profession through volunteer and pro bono service.
